Holy Week & Easter Services
Holy Week begins on March 24 with Jesus’ triumphal entry into Jerusalem on Palm Sunday. Palm Sunday and Easter Sunday services are our own, while Maundy Thursday, Good Friday, and Easter Vigil services will be joined by Evangelical Lutheran Church, Greencastle, and Salem Lutheran Church, Marion.
- Palm Sunday, March 24 at 10:15 AM (our regular Sunday service): procession with palms and reading of the Passion according to Mark
- Maundy Thursday, March 28 at 7:00 PM (at Trinity): service of Holy Communion commemorating the Last Supper; at the end of the service, the altar area will be stripped, signifying the humiliation of Jesus
- Good Friday, March 29 at 7:00 PM (at Evangelical): service of shadows — as the Passion according to John is read, the church gets progressively darker
- Easter Vigil, March 30 at 5:00 PM (at Evangelical): the Easter Vigil service focuses on the fulfillment of prophecy and the remembrance of baptism; it hints at but does not yet have the full joy of the resurrection at Easter
- Easter Breakfast, March 31 at 8:30 AM: join us for a festive potluck breakfast — please bring something to share!
- Easter Sunday, March 31 at 10:15 AM (our own service): we rejoice at Christ’s triumph over death
Principles
Using the information from conversations with the congregation about our assets, wows and needs, the renewal team discerned these principles for Trinity moving forward. We will use these principles as lens through which to evaluate ministry opportunities moving forward.
- Passionate about God
- Feeding the hungry physically, emotionally and spiritually
- Open, welcoming and friendly
- Courage to creatively use our gifts in the community
Priorities
The renewal team also identified these current priorities for ministry for Trinity
- Internal: Renew and deepen our connection with each other in the family
- External: Renew and deepen our connection with our neighbors in the community and continue working with the Food Pantry
Renewal is in the air!
Trinity is renewing with God’s help through the R3 intentional program of renewal.
- Beginning in Feb 2021, Members of the renewal team will meet with various teams and committees challenging them to find a way for us to connect with one another or our neighbors. The team will provide tools for planning.
- Call the office or comment on Facebook each week sharing where you’ve seen God.
Hold onto your hat! The Holy Spirit is moving at Trinity.
Trinity is moving forward! We now have a Vision AND a Logo.
